What's all that noise?

The Cox family has a pretty eclectic taste in music. Here is what we have been listening to lately:
This SONG!! Linz discovered and it has become our ANTHEM for Jameson House and what we see Hope Community being in our neighborhoods.
"If we want a garden
We're gonna have to sow the seed
Plant a little happiness
Let the roots run deep
If it's love that we give
Then it's love that we reap
If we want a garden
We're gonna have to sow the seed"

This album really got me (Mic) through those first few weeks in January after my dad passed. Deeply emotional, lyrics struggling through pain and seeing Hope in it all. Dylan at his best.

"They say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
They say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
But you wouldn't know it by me
Every day's been darkness since you been gone"

Pure Fun. The kids run in circles singing these punk fueled kids jams

"
Stand back, man
I don't wanna hurt you, too much
I get my reps in
'Cause I'm a lethal weapon
Woah, woah, woah, yeah!
Understand I'm the man with these big
Fat power hands (tigerclaw back fist)
Crush 'em all, big or tall, make 'em crawl
I'm fantastic, man (double jump front kick)"

Just crank it - Trust me - Just Crank it

"
Hold on, don't speak the word "surrender"
Won't sink toward defeat
I know when you're on a bender
That you're just searching for peace
And how a heavy heart always weighs you down
It's hard to breathe at night with no one around
So I'll stay by your side, never let you down
So that you never drown
So can you hold out?

'Cause it is getting better now (hold on)
It is getting better now
It is getting better now (hold on)
Even though you don't know how
It's getting better, and better, and better"

Sang this song on the live a few weeks back. A beautiful reminder to just be more kind.

"They've started raising walls around the world now
Like hackles raised upon a cornered cat
On the borders, in our heads
Between things that can and can't be said
We've stopped talking to each other
And there's something wrong with that

So before you go out searching
Don't decide what you will find
Be more kind, my friends
Try to be more kind"
"There's always something, somewhere
That's running through my mind
I know it's going nowhere but I still chase it
There's always something, somewhere, that I'm supposed to find
It's like a piece is missing, and I can't place it
But I wanna feel the ocean's spray
Drink in the sun as it surrounds me
But something, somewhere always pulling me away

Stay deep in the moment, just breathe
Feel the flow of all things in the moment's sway  - Why don't you stay"
"Makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts
The rest of my life
If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
If you knew how I wanted someone to come along

And change my life the way you've done
Feels like home to me
Feels like home to me
Feels like I'm all the way back where"
WARNING - THRASH METAL AHEAD
I LOVE (Mic) THIS BAND!
VEKTOR has that blistering 80's thrash metal feel with melodic super guitar solos and sporadic heavenly harmony vocals that paint haunting backgrounds to the space opera lyrics the vocalist is belting out through a gutteral snarl. It's not for everyone - but I have been cranking it lately.

"Hourglass between worlds
Emptiness on the side that employs
The upper hand
Recharging the void
Each half of the cosmic breath
Moved by a void
With our lungs at capacity
Recharging the void"
